The sun shone gaily and the summer heat has not retreated. On the morning of 20th August, all the freshmen from Grade 10 ushered in the first compulsory course of their senior high school career--the military training. Anqing Foreign Language School observed the grand opening of the military training mobilization conference on the playground, attended by President Madam Huang Wenli, Company Commander Zhai Qi of Anqing Air Force Radar Company, Director Xu Zuitai with the International Department as well as Deputy Directors Xu Haihong, Cao Siqing and Liu Qiongdan from the Senior High Department.
First of all, the conference raised the curtain in the national anthem. Student Pan Xinhai from the first company showcased his determination to overcome difficulties and complete the military training with his firm words.
Second of all, Company Commander Zhai Qi with the Air Force Radar Company made a speech to rouse everyone’s enthusiasm. He hoped all the students could truly understand the significance of military training, carry forward the fine traditions of the army featured in hard work and plain living in addition to completing the training tasks successfully.
Third of all, Deputy Director Xu Haihong with the Senior High Section gave a speech in which he encouraged the students to adjust their attitude, observe discipline and welcome the military training life in high spirits.
Fourth of all, the instructors from Anqing Air Force Radar Company displayed the formation queue demonstration for each of us, which won warm applause from the teachers and students from time to time.
Fifth of all, President Madam Huang Wenli delivered a keynote speech in which she reminded everyone to keep in mind that we were soldiers and were from Anqing Foreign Language School! Therefore, we were supposed to carry forward the spirit of the soldiers and people from Anqing Foreign Language School who were diligent and eager to learn instead of being afraid of hardships!
To sum up, during the week-long military training, the students will receive training programs such as the formation queue training, safety education and military song learning. It is believed that after the training, students’ physical quality and discipline awareness shall be greatly improved and they will become ambitious young men to have lofty ideals and strong physique in the new era.
